I love this circle !!!!!
My students strive to do the work of their non-disabled peers and actually want to be challenged above and beyond what they are able to do. I feel that the more they are willing to work and reach a higher level of achievement the more they will move towards inclusion and regular classes FT. I give them my full support whether they get the answer right or wrong and also encourage them if it is wrong to look at it a different way to try and get the right answer.

I find that my inclusion students try so much harder than my regular ed students. My inclusion classes always seem to ask those questions which lead me into Rigor instead of me "forcing" it. I love it.
ReplyDeleteElizabeth, I'm so excited to hear how you are supporting your students to take risks with challenging material. So many times it's not the children's ability that limits their growth--it's the adults who don't believe in them!
ReplyDeleteThank You!!!! When I taught HS Marine Biology to my Spec Ed class our reg ed teachers about had a coronary, especially when we did disection. They were excited that they were doing what everyone else did and I enjoyed it as well. It was funny though how many of them (including myself) got a little queasy
